New Prompts
I know, I know. I haven’t written here for a very long time. In fact, I haven’t written anything creative since my sad attempt at NaNoWriMo last year. I could use the “I’ve been busy” excuse, but, while it’s true, it’s also very, very lame. Fact is, I haven’t been feeling terribly creative lately, and haven’t found anything to spark my interest and get my creative juices flowing.
Until now. This past weekend I visited The Writer’s Lounge at the DPOF, and discovered they had started doing daily writing exercses. They pick one word a day and free write between five and fifteen minutes. This is just what the doctor ordered! I did some of my best work (if I may say so myself) when I had prompts from either Fragment or The Sacred.
And so I’ve taken up the challenge. I’ve already whipped out two freewriting exercises I’ve used for 100 Words journal entries, and today I spent part of my lunch hour jotting down a brief fanfic-ish thingie. It felt good to write again. Hopefully this dry spell of mine is over.
