Five Words

I’m going through my old papers, writings and things today, and came across this poem I wrote using the following five words: heart, dreams, love, night, stars. I’m not sure if this was a writing exercise for a class I was taking, or if I just did it on my own. Anyway, here’s the poem.
Alone in the night
I look up at the stars.
My heart dreams of
another time and place
when my love was near.
