1. What was your biggest accomplishment this year? Saving money.
2. What was your biggest disappointment? Not losing all the weight I had hoped to.
3. What do you hope the new year brings? Inspiration, creativity, and peace of mind.
4. Will you be making any New Year's resolutions? If yes, what will they be? Yes, I've made five:
1. Read the Bible.
2. Write more indepth journal entries.
3. Write two short stories (non-fanfic).
4. Complete NaNoWriMo with a saleable (or at least very close to saleable) novel.
5. Complete a minimum of five adventures off my list.
5. What are your plans for New Year's Eve? I'm going to stay home, munch on snacky foods like cheese and crackers, and sip an Almond Sparkler from JanKris winery. Cheers!
Christmastime is here
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday with family and friends! I wish you peace and joy and love in your lives! God bless you all!

More and more earthquake stories are emerging. Bethel Lutheran - the church my family attends - was damaged, but thanks to last summer's retrofitting, not destroyed. (The picture at the top of the page is the inside of the sanctuary) A couple of hikers got stuck on Bishop's Peak during the quake, and I can't even begin to imagine how terrifying that would be! The two women who died in Paso Robles are remembered, several wineries were damaged, and a lot of people's homes and businesses were so damaged they had to be condemned. Luckily they'll be able to get tax relief to help ease the financial pain. I felt two more aftershocks late late night that woke me from my sleep; one felt pretty strong. Mom said she felt a little one yesterday afternoon, too. We're not noticing any here in SLO. They say we could still get another good-sized aftershock before the weekend. It probably wouldn't be as big as the quake itself, but could be a 4. Thank God for Zoloft, or I'd be a totally freaked-out mess! As it is, I'm handling the whole thing pretty well.
Well, I arrived home this evening to find everything, and everyone in one piece. I pretty much knew that anyway, but it was nice to see it for myself. Most of our stuff rattled around a bit, but only a few things fell over. My rubber stamp display shelves were tilted on my wall a bit, and most of the stamps fell out, and some of my pictures were shifted, but that's pretty much it. Now, we just brace ourselves for the aftershocks.

The Mayfly project: summing up 2003 in twenty words or less:

I haven't done a Participation Positives entry for quite a while. Not that I haven't had anything to be positive about. Just lazy, I guess. Still, I thought it was about time I did one, so here it is:
Initial report here.
The ground is rockin' and rollin' here in SLO! That was the biggest earthquake I've ever felt, and only the second I've felt since I moved to California. Woo!
Edited to add that it was a 6.5!! Holy cow!

Finally! I'm feeling better, and I think the rest of my family will survive this bout with the flu as well! There's some new entries up in the journal, and some new pictures up in LapisBlue. Cheers!
Yeah, it's probably a bit early to be posting this one, but what can I say? I was inspired. Enjoy!
So, another year, another office party. I love my job!
There's a new Holidailies update here. Cheers!
Yes, the flu. I got it. Ugh! It nearly killed me, but it looks like I'm going to live after all. I've been sick since Tuesday, and while I'm able to actually get out of bed for a bit today, I still don't feel 100%. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be better.
There are two more Holidailies updates posted: December 2 and December 3. Enjoy! Also, I finally finished my 26 Things gallerie for this latest installment of the ultimate online photographic scavenger hunt!
So, I've signed up to participate in this year's Holidailies. I've been wanting to do it the past couple of years, but I always forgot about it until it was too late. This year, however, I made the deadline! After my poor showing during November (a whopping four entries), I'm hoping the Holidailies will inspire me to update my journal more. Plus there's a better than good chance I'll discover some great new journals, which is always fun. You can read my first entry here.
Oh, and by the way, I not only survived NaNoWriMo this year, but I finished!!! Cheers!
